A Waterfront Abundant with Birds & Wildlife

The Port of Everett waterfront is abundant with wildlife viewing opportunities. Nearly every park or trail offers an opportunity to watch birds, seals, sealions, whales, salmon and more. You’re in for a treat when you visit the Port’s Jetty Island (accessible by boat) or Union Slough Saltmarsh.

JETTY ISLAND
Jetty Island’s sandy beaches and marsh grasses are home to more than 45 bird species including osprey, shorebirds, hawks, eagles, cormorants and ducks. Lucky visitors may even see seals lounging near the water’s edge or witness grey whales swim by during spring migration.

UNION SLOUGH
At Union Slough (open seasonally), visitors can take in the sites within this 24-acre estuarine marsh mudflat that is home to a variety of species, including endangered Chinook salmon, shorebirds, Dungeness crab and a variety of native plants such as willows, flowering currant and nookta rose.
